We’ve had an exciting start to the year in the Web Development & Design program, and I’d like to share some highlights from our classroom.
The Web Studio is Up and Running
Thanks to the hard work of our Building Construction classmates, who painted and prepared the space, our new Web Studio is now open! The studio features professional RGB lighting, a high-quality webcam, and a dedicated microphone, giving students the opportunity to create projects in a professional-grade environment.

HACC Dual Enrollment Progress
Our dual enrollment partnership with HACC is moving full speed ahead. Students enrolled in WEB 101 are progressing well, and we are already working through Unit 5 of the 15-unit program. This experience is helping them get a jump start on college-level coursework and career preparation.
Freshman Rotation Success
This year’s freshman rotation has been a success so far, with strong interest from students visiting the classroom. We’re excited to see so many new faces showing enthusiasm for joining the Web program in the future.
Senior Projects: Real-World Experience
Our senior class has a full plate this year, taking on multiple real-world projects that will give them valuable hands-on experience. These include:
- Developing the DCTS EMR system
- Creating a website for a landscaping company
- Designing a website for an escape room business
- Building a DCTS Club Sign-Up Form with automated mail merge and roster generation
- Additional client-focused projects throughout the year
These projects challenge our seniors to apply their skills to practical situations, preparing them for both college and the workforce.
