In the Web Development & Design program, students will learn to build, code, and publish standards-based content for a variety of formats including the Web, smartphones and tablets. The instructor will present a disciplined approach to software design and coding with students working to achieve mastery level of multiple languages used in interactive design such as HTML5, CSS, XML, JavaScript, and more. Students will learn about writing, markup and coding of Web sites while gaining theoretical knowledge about current practices and standards of Web informational design. Additionally, this course will introduce computer programming logic and languages, covering fundamental concepts such as syntax, data types, algorithm design and logic control structures. Students develop working knowledge of how computers operate, how to assemble computers, and how to troubleshoot hardware and software issues. Hands-on labs and the Virtual Laptop and Virtual Desktop learning tools help students develop critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills. Updated, relevant curriculum and labs are delivered in an online and face to face learning environment and include new topics such as mobile devices and client side virtualization.

The Information Technology Academy is designed for students with a deep interest and talent for technology. Students in the Information Technology Academy will complete two quarter-long rotations before electing to focus on one of the two Career & Technical Program options available for ITAcademy students, Information Systems Technology and Web Development and Design. Multiple certifications are available and up to 20 college credits available for qualified students through CiHS and Dual Enrollment opportunities.
