Digital Launch Lab

Your Mission

Work as a creative agency to launch a fictional company. Roll three dice to generate the company’s customer profile, product or service, and personality. Brainstorm the brand together, then divide the production work and create a coordinated launch concept.

Materials

  • Company Generator chart
  • One d8, one d20, and one d12
  • Plain paper and graph paper
  • Colored pencils
  • Straight edges

Phase 1: Generate the Company

  • Roll the d8 together to determine the customer profile.
  • Roll the d20 together to determine the product or service.
  • Roll the d12 together to determine the brand personality.
  • Record all three results. Your group may use one optional reroll total, but you must keep the other two results.

Phase 2: Brainstorm Together

Every group member must contribute before anyone begins drawing or writing the final materials. Record the group’s decisions as brainstorming notes.

  • Create the business name.
  • Describe what the company offers and why the rolled customer profile would want it.
  • Select a color palette containing two or three colors.
  • Choose the overall design direction for the logo and website.
  • Decide what the company should communicate through its digital marketing.

Phase 3: Divide and Create

After agreeing on the brand direction, divide the following projects among the group. Continue communicating so every piece looks and feels like the same company.

Logo Concept

  • Create a rough colored-pencil logo sketch.
  • Include the business name or a recognizable symbol.
  • Use the group’s selected colors and brand personality.

Website Mockup

  • Use graph paper and a straight edge to sketch the company’s homepage.
  • Include the logo or business name, navigation, a headline, an image area, product or service information, and a clear call to action.
  • Use labels, notes, and color to communicate the intended design.

Digital Marketing Plan

  • Choose the social media platforms that best match the customer profile.
  • Describe the types of posts or videos the company should create.
  • Develop one digital advertisement idea.
  • Decide whether an email campaign would help and describe what it would promote.
  • Identify the main action customers should take after seeing the marketing.

Phase 4: Review and Pitch

  • Bring the logo, website mockup, marketing plan, color palette, and brainstorming notes together.
  • Check that every piece matches the same customer profile and brand personality.
  • Make any final improvements as a team.
  • Give the senior station leader a short pitch explaining the company and its digital launch direction.

Important

  • This is collaborative work. Everyone must contribute to the brainstorming and final review.
  • The sketches do not need to be professionally finished. Clear ideas and thoughtful decisions matter most.
  • Leave all dice, colored pencils, straight edges, and station materials at the station.
