About Me

Hello! My name is Abishek Mahat and I am a Junior here at Dauphin County Technical School. I am in the Web Development & Design program as you can already tell. Even before coming to DCTS, I was interested in Software Developing. I love working with softwares so I hope I am still doing this for the rest of my career.

After graduating from High School, my plan is to join college and study something in the IT field. I want to become a software developer or a Cybersecurity Specialist. Hopefully, I achieve this within the next few years.

My Skills

In my three years as a Web Development Student, I have learned HTML, CSS, and a little bit of JavaScript. I hope to be able to master these languages and learn other languages as well.

Quotes

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people's thinking."

Steve Jobs

"Any fool can write code that a computer can understand. Good programmers write code that humans can understand.”

Martin Fowler

"In some ways, programming is like painting. You start with a blank canvas and certain basic raw materials. You use a combination of science, art, and craft to determine what to do with them."

Skills and Certifications

These are the list of everything that we need to learn and cover in our four years at DCTS. The Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act of 2006 required the development and implementation of career and technical programs of study (POS). The following document (below the certifications in pink) specifies the nature of the WEB PAGE, DIGITAL/MULTIMEDIA AND INFORMATION RESOURCES DESIGN program and the variety of skills necessary to perform the jobs in that career field.
